The residency calendar

How each shareholder week ‘rolls forward’

The Story of a 16th-Century French Retreat

The following is an explanation of how each shareholder week ‘rolls forward’ on a 13 week cycle every year.

The example week below – highlighted in blue - tracks a shareholders residency period and its dates in the following year.

The ‘Yellow’ blocks are the four weeks set aside each year to allow for servicing the Manoir. These weeks are fixed on each year’s calendar as Easter, UK school May holiday, the first week in August and Christmas.

Swapping a week
In reality one rarely needs more than one week for routine servicing therefore the ‘Set service weeks’ are there to enable swaps by owners who would prefer to swap one of those weeks for their allocated week for that year. Any ‘swap’ is for one year only and the following year their allocated week would revert to its initial allocation on the rolling calendar.

The process to decide this is quite simple.

  • In October of each year all owners receive a request to submit an application for a ‘swap’ to a service week for the forthcoming year.

  • The Owner informs us what service week they require and which of their weeks they would like to exchange.

  • Where only one application is received, for example the Easter week, that is automatically allocated to that owner and added to the ‘Swap calendar’. This shows the amended dates, the week allocated and the week swapped.

  • Should several owners request the same week, a draw is made in November and again  amended on the ‘Swap calendar’ which is then issued to all owners.

  • Should another owner find that the week swapped for the service week better suits their needs that year – then they can swap for that too.
